Setting up your email on an Android device

A note about Android devices:


Steps to configure your email on your Android device may vary depending on the device, version and/or service provider. General steps and settings are provided below to get you started!

On your device, access the Email Configuration Options. Steps to do this are provided below.

If the settings below do not appear on your device, continue to item 1.2.

On your device, tap the Applications button. (1.1)

Tap the Email icon.

Tap Menu.

Tap Account Manager.

Tap Add Account.

Continue to item 2.1.




OR

Tap on Settings. (1.2)

Tap Accounts.

Tap Add Account.

Tap the Email icon.

Continue to item 2.1.

Once prompted, enter the following information: (2.1)



Email Address:
userName@yourDomain.com

Password:
Your Email Password

If "The social service is unable to automatically set up this account" appears, tap Set up manually.


General Settings:



Account Name:
yourDomain.com or a unique label (i.e. My Portal's email)

Real Name:
The name you wish to appear to your recipients


Incoming Server Settings:



Server Type:
POP or POP3

Server:
yourDomain.com

Pre-fixes such as "mail." or "pop." should NOT be included in your settings.

Port:
110

User Name:
userName@yourDomain.com

Password:
Your Email Password

Security Type:
None

Do NOT check "Use secure connection"

Do NOT check "Verify certificate"



Outgoing Server Settings:



SMTP Server:
yourDomain.com

Pre-fixes such as "mail." or "pop." should NOT be included in your settings.

Port:
25 or 587

User Name:
userName@yourDomain.com

Password:
Your Email Password

Do NOT check "Use secure connection"

Do NOT check "Verify certificate"
