1. What is a Dynamod Portal?
A Dynamod Web Portal is a pre-designed Flash/HTML template web site that is populated by the user via a password protected sister site called the "Admin".

In the Admin, a user can upload numerous different types of files, modify their content and change the "look and feel" of the Portal based on different preset options available. Changes immediately take effect. The Live web portal will display the uploaded content in the pre-designed layout that was selected by the user.

2. My industry isn't listed. Can I still sign up for Dynamod?
Absolutely! All users, whether they are musicians, artists, writers or small businesses, have access to all of the portal themes currently available. Additionally, all users have access to every Dynamod Portal Module currently available. Users from different industries will utilize different modules in order to complete their web presence.

For example, a musician would most likely use the following Dynamod Portal Modules:

3. Are Dynamod portals compatible with Macs and other platforms?
Absolutely. Dynamod portals are compatible with multiple platforms including Mac OS 9, Mac OS X, Windows XP and Vista and compatible with all browsers including Internet Explorer, Mozilla FireFox, Safari, IE Mac and Opera.

4. How long will it take for my Dynamod Portal to be ready?
Your portal will be awaiting your command in 12 to 24 hours.

You will then receive an email with the subject "Your Dynamod Web Portal is Ready!" which will provide you with your user name and password to your site.

Please make sure emails from info@dynamod.com do not end up in your Junk Mail folder as you might miss important messages regarding your account.

Why does it take this long?
All changes to a domain name require propagation time. Propagation time is the amount of time it takes for domain name information to be distributed throughout the Internet. This process usually takes 12 to 24 hours to complete.

5. I already own the domain I want to use for my portal. Can I use it?
Certainly! It is very easy to switch to Dynamod. During the Sign Up Process simply select, "I already own the domain I will use for my portal." and enter your domain name.

If you already own your domain name, you will be emailed instructions on how to modify your Domain Name Server (DNS) settings to point your domain at Dynamod's servers.

6. I already have hosting. Can I keep my current host?
Unfortunately, due to its many features and dynamic capabilities Dynamod Portals may not be hosted elsewhere.

However, the monthly fee for a Dynamod Portal includes web hosting on state-of-the-art secured machines.

7. Will I miss emails sent to my domain while my portal is in the 12 to 24 hour propagation period?
Once your domain propagates over to Dynamod, all of your emails will be delivered at the Dynamod servers. You will then receive instructions on how to check your new email address. You will not miss any emails sent to your domain.

All emails stored on your current host's servers, however, will be no longer be accessible. You may be interested in utilizing another email application such as Microsoft Outlook or Entourage to download these messages from the server to your computer to avoid losing any important emails.

8. Can I try a Dynamod portal before purchasing a package?
Each Dynamod Web Portal comes with a 30-day money back guarantee.

If you sign up and at the end of your first month decide Dynamod is not right for you, we will fully refund you for the service.

9. What Domain Name Server (DNS) settings do I need for my Dynamod Web Portal?
Log into the registrar where you purchased your domain and edit the Domain Name Server (DNS) settings to include only the following:

ns.dynamod.com
ns2.dynamod.com
ns3.dynamod.com


This will point your domain at Dynamod's DNS servers and allow your Dynamod Web Portal to resolve correctly throughout the Internet.

10. How do I update my credit card information?
To update your account information, please follow the instructions below:
  1. Click on My Account.

  2. Login with your Dynamod Account information. If you do not remember your password, simply click the "Forgot Password" link.

  3. Once logged in, select the account you would like to update.

  4. Click Edit next to Payment Information.

  5. Enter your new Credit Card information.

  6. Click CONTINUE.

11. Can I sign up for a yearly package? If I do, can I get a discount?
Upon signing up for your Dynamod Web Portal, you may easily login to your Dynamod Account and subscribe to a yearly package. By subscribing to the yearly package, you get 12 months of service for the price of 11.

You can change between Dynamod Web Portal Packages at any time. You will not have to re-upload your content upon changing packages or Portal designs.

12. Is the domain name included in the package price?
A domain name is not included in the monthly package price.

The package prices are the monthly fees for your Dynamod Portal. The fee includes the portal, Web Hosting with unlimited EMAIL accounts, File Transfer Modules and even more great web tools that are included.

If you do not already own a domain, you can easily purchase a domain name during the Sign Up Process starting at $13.50 per year.

If at any point you decide to cancel your Dynamod subscription, you will maintain ownership of your domain and can change your name servers to point at a different host free of charge.

Please note that domain names are purchased on a yearly basis and are non-refundable.

13. Do I have to pre-own a domain name?
Nope. You can purchase a Domain name of your liking during the sign up process.

14. Can I change my Dynamod Web Portal domain name?
Yes! You can change your domain name at any time within your Dynamod Account. You will not have to re-upload your content upon changing your domain name. To change your Dynamod Web Portal domain name, follow these steps:

  1. Go to www.dynamod.com.

  2. Click on My Account.

  3. Log in with your Dynamod Account information. If you do not remember your password, simply click the "Forgot Password" link.

  4. Click View beneath "My Portals" for the portal you wish to modify.

  5. Beneath "Domain Details," click Edit next to your Master Domain.

  6. Enter the new domain name you wish to use and complete the rest of the process.

15. Can I have more than one domain point at my Dynamod Web Portal?
This is called parking, which can be done directly within your Dynamod Account. Parking a domain at your portal means that your visitor will be directed to your portal regardless of what domain he or she types into the browser. A parked domain is not an additional portal, rather a mirror of the portal.

If you'd like for another domain to resolve at your Dynamod Portal, follow these steps:

  1. Go to www.dynamod.com.

  2. Click on My Account.

  3. Log in with your Dynamod Account information. If you do not remember your password, simply click the "Forgot Password" link.

  4. Click View beneath "My Portals" for the portal you wish to modify.

  5. Beneath "Domain Details," click Park New Domain.

  6. Enter the domain name you want to park and run through the rest of the process.

16. Do I also get an email account with my portal?
Yes. In fact, you will be able to create an unlimited number of accounts as you need right from your Portal Admin. At no extra cost.

17. Will my Flash Portal be available in search engines such as Google and Yahoo!?
The Web Industry has deemed HTML Sites mandatory for optimal Search Engine results. Because search engines are not capable of reading Flash, each portal comes an HTML version of your website free of charge. This greatly helps to improve your rankings with Google and other search engines.

18. Can I use more than one domain name for the same Dynamod Portal?
Yes. You can park up to 5 additional domain names pointing at the same Dynamod Portal.

19. Does Dynamod offer phone support?
At this time, Dynamod does not offer telephone support.

21. Do I have to have the Flash Plug-in installed to view the Dynamod Portal?
No. While 98% of Operating Systems include Flash by default, we have included an HTML version of your Portal for the remaining 2% free of charge!

22. Do I need any programming knowledge to use a Dynamod portal?
Absolutely NOT!

HTML and other programming language knowledge is not required at all to utilize Dynamod's services. Dynamod is aimed towards users that do not have the time or experience to program their own website.

23. What if users do not have Flash Player installed on their computer? Will they see my portal?

27. Can I customize the name of each section? Am I limited to only one of each type of section?
You are able to rename any of the sections on your site, as well as add and remove sections whenever you'd like.

Additionally, you are not limited to having only one of each type of section. For instance, you may want to create two "About" Sections or four "Gallery" sections to properly display your content.

28. Can I cancel my Dynamod account?
There are no setup fees or yearly contracts and you may cancel your Dynamod Web Portal subscription whenever you'd like.

In order to ensure account security, you must login to your Dynamod Account at www.dynamod.com and complete the Cancellation Process. To cancel your Dynamod Web Portal, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to www.dynamod.com.

  2. Click on My Account.

  3. Log in with your Dynamod Account information. If you do not remember your password, simply click the "Forgot Password" link.

  4. Once logged in, beneath "My Portals", click Edit next to the account you wish to cancel.

  5. Click the Cancel Portal button.

  6. Complete the survey and click Submit.

29. Can I temporarily freeze my Dynamod account?
At this time, it is not possible to freeze your Dynamod Account.

30. If I cancel, do I get to keep my domain name?
If at any point you decide to cancel your Dynamod subscription, you will maintain ownership of your domain name and can change your name servers to point at a different host free of charge.
